Brand Story

The Olifant brand dates back to 1841 when the J.J. Melchers distillery began shipping its Jenever from Schiedam to Africa. The distinctive elephant logo was branded onto casks before shipping so that they would be easily recognised by dock workers at the end of their voyage.
