The Transcontinental Rum Line (TCRL) is a series of rums launched in 2016 by La Maison du Whisky (LMDW), an independent bottler, in collaboration with Velier, an Italian rum innovator. The line is inspired by the voyages of rum casks between the New World and Europe, and the rums are aged in their country of origin before being transported to LMDW's facility in Cognac to finish aging. The TCRL's founding principle is transparency, with no added sugars or dyes, and the aging conditions are clearly indicated on each bottle. The line is aimed at both beginners and experienced rum drinkers.
